I really liked being at the Luna. Everyone here was family, even if we weren't all really related. They were all very nice to me. Lots of people gave me treats when I ran past, and there was food everywhere! It smelled so good, and I was always hungry, so that was good. Daddy had told me about his mum and dad, Grandpa Cole and Ama Syren. They were the leaders of the clan. Cole was Alpha, like a king, and Syren was his Lupa, his queen. It was almost like a fairytale. We could even turn into wolves! How cool is that?! I met Uncle Mick too, he's really smart. He makes these magick potions and stuff that can make you better if you get sick or hurt. He's Grandpa Cole's second, they call him the Duke. I think it kinda makes me the Princess, since everyone has net names like Duke and Alpha and Lupa. There was more, but I forget. Except the Oba, that's Nana Nyta. She's my great grandma, cause she's Mum & Aunt Arwen's grandma. She knows lots of stuff about the clan, and she's gonna teach me some of it.
I'm lucky cause I got all of them to teach me stuff. They're even going to make it so that I can change into a wolf too! I know I can, but I dunno how to explain it. I can feel it. The other me. She kinda tickles like she's furry, and when I'm hungry, she's hungrier. It's a good thing I'm smart too, cause I'm only four, and there's a lot of stuff to know about being a Loup Garou. But I learn really fast, and I remember lots of stuff. I can even read now! I'm really glad Mum and Daddy got me out of that icky institution, and that Aunt Arwen and Uncle Synge helped. It's better out here. I think maybe the Loup Garou part of me knew Stryker was my Mum, cause when I first saw her I just knew she was there to save me. I'd never even seen a picture of her or nothing. But I knew she was my Mum. Midian's not really my Daddy, cause Mum was taken away by the bad hunters then. But he loves me and tells me all the time I'm his. He's my Daddy for real now, cause they all say so. And I love him very much. Mommy loves him too.
This morning Ama Syren helped me turn into a wolf for the first time. I can't do it by myself yet, not until after I get my ignition, I mean my initiation. That's kind of a hard word to say, but I'm working on it. It's a magick spell that makes me a real live Loup Garou, and I can turn into a wolf anytime I want. There's rules too, but my family helps me so I don't break any of them. Bad things happened at the school when we broke rules, I'd seen it. I didn't think my family would let anything bad happen to me, but I wasn't going to break the rules and find out either!
I liked running, and the meadow was all flat so I didn't have to worry about tripping over stuff so much. There's lots to trip on in the woods. I'm not clumsy, but I get excited when I run, and having four feet that are paws isn't like having two regular feet. I keep practicing when they help me turn into a wolf, and I'm getting better. Ama says that we're all that way at first. Says we have to find our balance. Uncle Synge and I are gonna chase rabbits sometime too. Today I was running with Grandpa Cole. He's really fast. He's also really big and really strong. He's the smartest and strongest, cause he's the king, I mean Alpha. He's the best Grandpa in the world too, cause he lets me chase him, and when we race, sometimes I win. He doesn't really get hurt, he just says it's his bad paw sometimes so I can win. It's really nice. Daddy teases him sometimes too, so I know it's not real.
This is the first time I got to chase Grandpa Cole as a wolf, and I beat him twice! We were laying by the creek in the meadow after, cause we were both tired and needed a drink. He told that Mum or Uncle Synge was coming. He can sense when they get close and stuff like that, but he wouldn't tell me who. I'd been guessing and I knew it wasn't Ama Syren. He said no to Oba, and no to Aunt Arwen and Daddy too. "Is Uncle Mick coming? Cause if not, then it's gotta be Uncle Synge or Mum." Grandpa Cole didn't say, he just grinned and looked behind me. I turned my head, but couldn't see anybody yet, even with my wolf eyes. I couldn't smell them neither. "Oh wait! I see something! They're coming closer!" I giggled, but it makes sort of a snort sound when I'm a wolf. I stood and wagged my tail back and forth, dancing on my paws a little. I was excited, and I still didn't know who it was coming, I could almost see them through the trees.

Being a mother was one of the best things in life. To watch your child grow, nurture them with love and shower them with hugs and kisses, and know they are safe and, above all, healthy. My daughter was that. Safe, healthy, being nurtured and loved, my hatred of that school she was in often lead me to be more protective over her but I had that right dammit! She was ripped from me, torn from heart without my knowledge, away from family for four years. Until my own parents, who were in the munin, helped lead me to her. It was all thanks to Misty and Jack, my own mother and father, that I was reunited with my child. Life had never been sweeter now that I had everyone in my life again. Arya was my daughter, my child, I would kill and die for her, and if anyone touched her, I would rip their hearts out. Midian would be the same, just like Arwen, Synge and the whole clan. They just adored the little Loup Garou, and I couldn't blame them. Arya was just a darling.
The day started off the same. Breakfast in the clan which I helped prepare alongside Arwen. I tell ya, shes the cook out of us two. I barely could manage the morning meal without nearly burning the bread that was supposed to be toast, and so Arwen(who was laughing I admit) said to do something a bit simpler. Hah, whats more simpler than toast? Anyway, chuckling away, I managed not to screw up too much and we got breakfast sorted for the clan. Others were helping too of course, a big clan like this and everyone pitches in when they can. Even if we weren't blood related, we still helped. The clan was like one giant family anyway. So when breakfast was done, we cleaned, again everyone helped, before I finally managed to relax a bit more. Arya was with Syren and Cole, I didn't mind that, they adored her and she was safe, so no worries. Midian and Synge were tussling near the forest, in the space used for, you guessed it, tussling. Mick was trying to teach Arwen the finer points of healing potions, and I didn't know how that was going.
Relaxing outside the shelter Midi and I slept in, I lazed upon the ground, in dirty jeans(from the dirt on the ground) and a faded black tee shirt. Since the weather was warm, the jacket I 'borrowed' from Midian was just inside, in case the weather turned colder. Judging from the sky, which was a fresh perriwinkle blue, I doubted that would happen. "Come look Stryker." I heard Cole's voice, and sitting up, I push myself off the ground and head over. "Everything okay?" I ask, looking from Cole, to Syren, before Arya. Syren was going to help Arya shift, and I widened my eyes. The look Cole gave me was enough to catch on, and I really wanted to see her wolf form. When she did shift, I gasped. In my daughters place was a grayish colored wolf, with both light and dark brown highlights. Her dark brown eyes were almost the color of amber in this form, and I wanted to run with her, to run alongside as wolves. But Cole would get that chance, I had agreed to it, let him, and it didn't bother me one bit.
As Cole and Arya left to run, I turned to Syren. "Need any help?" I asked, indicating I would help with anything she would like. The others were busy and I liked doing things. However, Syren said there wasn't much for me to do at the moment when Synge tore from the forest. "Lets sneak up on dad!" He grinned, knowing he couldn't sneak up on his father, but we could try. And we could help Arya tune her senses in more although I had to admit, she was getting good. A fast learner she was. Shedding my clothes, I stood warm and naked under the sun before shifting, black fur with red highlights, and I began my run. Synge wasn't with me, and I was about to turn back when he spoke. "I'll be there soon." Perplexed, I didn't give it much of a thought as I tore through the lands, following the trail left by Cole and Arya. They were easy to follow, their scent like jagged smells in my nose.
"You mean I'm coming closer." I heard the faint voice of Arya as I padded through trees, stopping just ahead of Arya. "Hey sweetheart. How did the run go?" I was curious to know, licking Arya upon her wolf head, pushing the fur down more as it tended to stick up a little. Just like her mothers, I noted with a grin.

"It's Mum! It's Mum!" I was hopping around now, in circles and yipping. Mum was coming to play too! I ran to her, and almost ran into her, but stopped just in time. I tried to sit still, cause she was licking me. It's kinda funny, but Mum doesn't lick me unless she's a wolf. I like it though, it's like doggie kisses. I've never had a doggie though. I get to play with wolves instead. "Hi Mum! Grandpa Cole got tired, so we're resting. I beat him twice!" I wagged my tail a bunch cause I was happy. I wagged it so hard that it made my whole back of my body wag too. My tongue hung out of my mouth because I was panting.
I snuggled under Mum, I was small enough that I could walk right under her, but our fur rubbed. I circled her feet, then flopped on my side. I rolled around, giggling, batting at Mum with my paws. "I like being a wolf Mum! I'm really fast. Watch this!" I rolled over and got up, and ran out to the middle of the meadow and back. I was super fast. I still panted when I got back. "Did ya see how fast I am? Lots faster as a wolf, huh?" I grinned up at my Mum. She was very pretty. I thought she was the prettiest lady ever. So did Daddy. He's gonna marry her, and that makes me happy. Mum's pretty as a wolf too. She's all black, like night time, or when you close your eyes really tight. But she's got red on her too. It's neat. I wondered why I wasn't black like Mum, but Ama Syren told me that lots of time wolves will be different colors. She's white when she turns into a wolf. It reminds me of fluffy clouds. I bet clouds would feel like Ama Syren's fur too.
"Mum, Uncle Synge said we could chase rabbits sometime. Can he come play too? Can we chase rabbits?" Bunnies are cute. I didn't want to hurt them, but Grandpa Cole told me that sometimes they have to give their lives so that we can eat. Other animals eat them sometimes too. He said that's why we say a blessing after, to thank them, and that it's ok. I dunno if I wanna hurt a bunny though. But chasing them would be fun. I've seen them, they can hop really fast, but I bet I'm faster. I nipped at Mum, until Cole bit my tail. I was wagging in his face on accident. "Hey!" I giggled and turned around. He growled and hung on, so I couldn't turn all the way around. But Grandpa Cole was smiling, so I knew it was a game.
I wiggled my tail extra hard, but he wasn't letting go. He snorted, which meant he laughed, and I felt it on my tail. It tickled. I started giggling and fell over on my side. I curled up, and could bat at him then. I set my paw on his nose. He let go, then licked my face and told Mum that he was going to run around the perimeter. I was safe as long as I was with someone. I was still too little to go out on my own yet. I'd rather have someone with me anyway. It's no fun to play all by yourself. "Bye Grandpa Cole!" I stood and watched him run off, wagging my tail some more. A butterfly flew by, so I barked at it. It flew up higher and I jumped, but missed it. I chased it for a little while, but I never did catch it, so I came back to Mum and sat down. "Darn. I'm still too little to catch it. It kept going higher and higher. Maybe someday, when I'm all growed up, I can jump really high. Then I'll catch the butterfly right, Mum?" I leaned into her. I was kinda tired, but I just needed a break. I have lots of energy. Oba tells me I'm a spitfire. But I don't really spit fire. I don't think wolves can.

I giggled. I couldn't help it. Arya was just too cute, and the snorting from my nose tickled, making a sneeze erupt in the back of my throat before turning my head slightly to sneeze, eyes watered but it felt much better. Rubbing my paw across my nose, I nuzzled Arya who was trying to sit still, the excitement was getting to her, the way her tail wagged, making the back end of her body shake with the motion, which made me giggle again. Jeezums, I had forgotten what young ones were like, their joy and excitement was infectious! "Good girl. Daddy will be pleased, took him a while to beat Cole too." I sniggered, earning a joking glare from Cole who half smiled too. He never really got mad about that, joked that he was yes, but never truly angered by it. Arya's fur which touched my own made my glance downwards, nuzzling her again as she walked right under me. "Careful, don't wanna get too dizzy." I cautioned, smiling as Arya started to circle my feet until she flopped down, and the cheeky little darling started batting at me with her feet. Lowering my jaw and keeping it firmly closed, I pressed against her belly in a sort of tickle motion, which granted, was harder to do than being an actual human, but hey, better than nothing.
"I'm glad sweetheart. Never forget than you are part of the wolf and the wolf is part of you. Never forget either side." I was brimming with pride at my child who was embracing the wolf, even though after four years, this was her first time as a wolf. Her birthright would be instilled upon her and she would soon able to change at will. I couldn't wait for that day. Watching her with watchful eyes, I saw how she ran, and she really was fast. Smiling as only a wolf can smile, I looked at her with pride showing in my eyes. "I saw sweetheart, you are fast! Looks like I have to be careful when we race." I winked, it looked more funny than it would have been if I was human, but that meant that if she wanted to race then I would happily join in. "Of course! You don't have to ask darling." I was more than happy, and willing, for Synge to join in and let them chase rabbits. I had no problem with it, Synge would protect her if needed, he would be ever watchful and helpful at the same time. Synge was a good kid.
Arya and Cole had a few moments, I was content to watch, giggling occasionally until Cole went to run the perimeter, a duty he had as the Alpha. "Seeya later Cole." I watched his wolf form blur through the trees before he was gone. Twisting my head, Arya was chasing a butterfly, and I wondered how much energy she had, it was incredible, but before I could ask and be all teasing about it(as mothers do), she was back at my side, the butterfly evidently evaded her fangs. "Your right. Someday you'll be big enough and the butterfly won't be able to escape." I grin, bringing one paw over her and pulling her close, cuddling into me so I didn't let go. Just a quiet mother-daughter moment, and these I cherished dearly, pulled them close to my heart. "I'm glad your enjoying your wolf form sweetheart." I was kinda at a loss for what to say. See, this whole mother thing was new and I was learning everyday, but I wasn't used to talking to younger ones. It was normally Arwen, Synge, Midian, Mick, Syren, Cole, you know, adults. One thing I had to remember was not to curse around Arya when I hit my foot or something. Granted I didn't swear much, but still. "Your wolf is adorable, just like your human form." I nuzzled into her fur, glad to have found my baby, life wouldn't be fun without her.

I yawned real big when Mum pulled me close. She was so warm and soft. I liked falling asleep with Mum & Dad best of all. I didn't even need a blanket. Sometimes they'd sleep as wolves, and I got to cuddle with them. Some people might be scared if they saw a little girl sleeping in the middle of some wolves, but the wolves are my family and they'd never, ever hurt me. I snuggled into my Mum, smiling when she told me I was adorable. "Not as pretty as you, Mum." I stuck my nose deep in her fur and smelled. I can smell lots better right now, and Mum smelled sweet. She smelled like wolf, and the special smell that meant Loup Garou, but she smelled like sweet too. Kinda like vanilla ice cream. It made me hungry and my tummy made it's hungry noise.
I yawned again and leaned into Mum. "When's lunch Mum? Or are we really gonna eat rabbits? Synge says I'll like it, but I don't know." I tried to make a face, but it felt funny cause my face was all wolfy. I wasn't sure I was really gonna like eating rabbits. And it won't even be cooked. Mum and I laid down in the grass by the river. The sound of water was nice, and being with my Mum was the best. Sometimes, Ama Syren tells me I'm too old for my years. I think she means that I'm smart. Or that I say things that normal kids wouldn't. "Mum? I just wanted to tell you that you're the best Mum ever. I'm glad you came and got me and that I get to stay with you forever and ever. I'm not mad or nothing. I know it wasn't your fault that the bad guys came and took you away, then took me away from you. I'm really glad you're my Mum. I love you and Daddy both lots and lots!"
I turned my head up and back, so I could see her. She had watery eyes, like after she sneezed. But she wasn't gonna sneeze. I think she was trying not to cry. I didn't mean to make her sad! I jumped up and started licking her face, trying to make her feel better. "Oh Mum! I didn't mean to make you sad. I'm sorry!" My eyes got teary too, I never wanted Mum to cry. Unless they were happy tears. I put my head under hers and rubbed, bumping my nose against her chin. My tail wagged behind me, but slower than before. When I looked up, the butterfly I was chasing earlier had landed on Mum's shoulder. My eyes got real big. I got low to the ground, but my behind was up. I squinted my eyes, and my lips curled. I wanted to get that butterfly! "Mum, the butterfly's on you." I didn't know I could whisper when I used telepathy, but it's just like regular talking, only you don't use your mouth.

Seeing the yawn made me keep her even closer, if she fell asleep that was fine, it would be easy to carry her back to the clan either way. When she spoke to me, it was useless to argue, we would be going back and forth with words, yet in my mind, I still thought she was prettier. "How about this? We are both pretty. Saves on any arguments." I winked again, knowing I would be teaching her the point of compromising, it would avoid any fighting when she was older, and it was good to know when to compromise and when to keep going. "Hungry?" I arched my eyes, hearing her stomach growling, before pushing her softly with my nose and grinning. Others who came across us may think we were weird wolves, and not at all acting like normal creatures, but we weren't normal, and I was going to teach her it was okay to be different. Although I doubted I would need to teach her much, she was melding into the Loup Garou lifestyle without too much difficulty.
"In a few hours I think." Tilting my head towards the sky, I sniffed, the scent of roasting meat lingered in the air, the wind helped waft the scent over to us. "Or sooner. But can you smell that? Thats roast. I bet your Aunt Arwen is cooking along with your Nana Nyta." Oh man, thinking about their food made my own stomach rumble, an ache that crept along my body and my mouth watered at the thought of sinking my teeth into hot meat. "We can eat rabbits too. It's not as bad as you think though, if you get too worried, let the wolf take over and guide you." I replied, laying down in the soft grass next to my daughter, cuddling her while the soothing sound of rushing water helped calm my thoughts. Then Arya said something that tugged at my heart, the tears in my eyes welled up as I looked softly at her. "Baby, you have no idea how proud I am of you. I'm glad I found you too, and that your not mad. I just wish I got to you sooner. I'm glad and both proud and happy you are my daughter, and I love you with all my heart. So does your father." As soon as Midian looked at Arya, he knew this was his daughter, even though they weren't blood related. I was glad Arya was taking to him as a father too, it made him swell with love and pride. He would do anything for her.
"Baby its okay." I lick her head again, hoping to sooth her, because I was extremely lucky to have a daughter like Arya. She knew that when or if she was ready to talk about the school/institute, she could always come to Midian or I, or both. We would always make time for her, we would always listen. Sure I would want to murder those guys again and again for it, but hey, they messed with the wrong daughter. Tilting my head as I saw Arya's eyes go wide, I wanted to look behind me, instead I sniffed the air. Scenting nothing, Arya answered my question. "Oh." I stayed perfectly still so the butterfly would stay. Arya was quite within her right to snatch at the butterfly if she wanted to, I wasn't going to stop her. If she grazed skin with her teeth, it would heal and the pain would be minimal. "You want that butterfly don't you? Well go on, feel free." An open invitation, I could see the eagerness and wanting to grab that butterfly. So I let her.
