Name: Ursa ( she will adopt the Loup Garou surname in time.)
Age: 28
Height/Weight: Human form she's 5'6 and 130 pounds. In Bear
form she's over 9 feet tall, and just about 400 pounds.
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Black (in both forms actually)
Character description: Born on the Cherokee Nation, Ursa grew up in a mostly Native American environment, as a product of that she is very layed back, not easily excited, and very prideful. Deeply religious, her naturalistic beliefs flow in everything she does.
Persuasion: good
Type of Creature: Werebear
Powers: First of all, she turns into a Black Bear, In her bear form, she's incredibly strong, able to push 400 pounds with the bulk of her were-form, She's able to climb trees, and swims really well.
Her teeth and claws make decent weapons if needed.
She is also a Shaman, in the ways of healing one's soul, traveling to the spirit world to gain knowledge from ancestors, and very competent with Herbalism in many different ways.
History: Born on the land of the Cherokee Nation, Ursa had a very nice childhood, spending most of her time following her father around, the Tribe's main Shaman, learning things from him along the way, helping him and the tribe whenever possible, even before coming of age.
Part of tradition, during her 'coming of age' she separated herself from the tribe during her first menses, to seek a vision quest.
The scent of her new womanhood drew the attention of a particular Black Bear, who ignored her 'safety fire' and attacked her in the middle of a meditation.
When she awoke, she was a bear.
She ran around for the rest of her 'quest' in the bear form, returning back to human during sleep once again.
She told her Father what had happened, and not believing it more then a hallucination, he was shocked to see her actually turn in front of him.
Bears have many different symbolism and significance in Native American beliefs, all of them cherished, and when the tribe found her change, they embraced it as a sign from their ancestors.
She was more formally trained in the ways of Shaman after this, more of a counselor to the tribe, healing their souls more often than their physical ailments.
After many years of high ranking just for her Bear form, she was approached by the elders, telling her that even as the tribe needs their Sister Black Bear, they cannot ignore tradition, and she needs to leave the tribe for awhile, to venture out and see more than just the 'Nation's Lands.
She left the Tribe, walking on foot, alone, happy to do what everyone of her people do in life. She did not see it as leaving them, simply going away for awhile.
But her path has not brought her home.
Character is from (series, book, creator, or author, if it applies): mix my own thoughts with Native American Mythologies (mostly Cherokee)
